Let’s start the second half of the school year with Spring holidays February 5th to 9th. After relaxing, we can all meet on the 16th at our 2nd annual Ball and dance through the night. Doesn’t sound bad, does it?

Jan Řehák
This month we're really trying to help students identify those habits and attitudes that will help them stay on top of their studies. Some of them are easy: attend school every day, meet deadlines, ask for help.  Some of them are more challenging: believe in yourself, stay positive. Jan Řehák is a student that does all of that. As a result, he is doing very well in the Diploma Programme. Well done!
What's Up at ISB?
General Meeting - Jan 31st

We would like to invite all of you for an important general meeting on Wednesday, January 31 at 4:30pm in the auditorium. At this time, we would like to share with you highlights of the school's academic and financial plans for the upcoming years. We are looking forward to seeing all of you on that date.

ISB Ball 2018 - Feb 16th

The biggest night of the year! All families, students (apart from KG and primary) and staff are cordially invited to dance through the night on Friday, February 16th. This year we will learn how to swing dance, party with the Ukulele Orchestra Jako Brno, vote for the King and Queen of the ball and perhaps win a prize. Check out the Facebook event for more details. Tickets sold at the reception desk (sale will be announced).

Spirit Theme Days

January 26: Pajama Day (wear your favorite pajamas to school)
February 2: Crazy Hat Day (wear a cool and unique hat)
February 16: Celebrity/Rock Star Day (dress up as your favorite star!)
March 2: History Day (dress up as your favorite historical figure)
March 16: Disney Day (dress up as your favorite Disney character)

Theme days are a fun opportunity for all ISB students to dress up and participate in a school-wide event. Theme days are an extension of spirit days, and students get points for their team when they dress up. The team with the most points wins a pizza party at the end of the year.

ISB on Ice - Feb 12, 19 and 26th

The skating lessons will start in February on the following three Mondays: 12th, 19th and 26th from 9:30 to 10:30. Please start putting together your skating gear: a helmet, warm winter clothes and skates.

Teacher’s Book Club

For the first time this year, the hardworking teachers of ISB are participating in staff book clubs. They have chosen a pedagogical book related to an area of interest and engage in monthly discussions related to their books. Topics of discussion range from how to make playtime more purposeful in early years, to the school-wide planning and application of thinking strategies. This professional development opportunity is a great way for teachers to study new curriculum designs and best teaching practices.
